Ampthill Park; Capability Brown landscape with Tudor history
Project: Tree & Vegetation Clearance
Client: Ampthill Town Council Location: Ampthill Great Park
Outline
Practicality Brown have worked with the local council at Ampthill Park in Bedfordshire, on landscaping and scrub clearance. The park has a fascinating heritage from Henry VIII to Capability Brown, together with a diverse collection of flora and fauna. Much of the park’s landscape was designed by Georgian landscape architect Lancelot “Capability” Brown, and remains historically significant.
Programme
We re-established the views facing north over Marston Vale originally created by Brown and there are many veteran trees from his original plantings, which provide a great habitat for today’s wildlife as well as enhancing views and accessibility.
