Crimson Sentry Maple is a robust, round-headed deciduous tree with striking, dark purple-red leaves that appear almost black in the summer. Large clusters of eye-catching, deep yellow flowers emerge in spring. The flowers are tinged with red appear and appear on bare branches. The foliage turns luminescent crimson foliage in the autumn.
Good for screening out unattractive buildings. It tolerates pollution and heavy ground, thriving on most free draining soils. Its fast growth can be easily controlled with regular pruning.
A perfect specimen tree for a sunny site where the light catches the rich ruby tone of the foliage. Acer platanoides ‘Crimson Sentry’ is a great tree for a medium sized garden.
