Description
Buxus sempervirens, also known as Box, is a large evergreen shrub or small tree. Box leaves are small, bright green and numerous, it has a small flower that is green-yellow in colour. Box grows best in well-drained soil in partial shade as it can be scorched by sun and strong winds.
Left untouched, this tree will reach around 7m over about 40 years, however it is most commonly seen clipped into shapes, hedges and used in gardens for screening.
Clip in the spring, after the last frost to stimulate stimulates new foliage development, which will be soft when it emerges, and then hardening to protect itself before the colder weather returns.
We are not supplying Buxus at present due to pest and disease problems but we will be happy to quote for alternatives,
