Description
Corylus avellana or Hazel, native to Europe and Western Asia, is traditionally a main feature of hedgerows used to separate field boundaries in England. Its attractive long, catkins appear before its leaves in early spring. Hazelnuts are produced in autumn, making it a firm favourite for squirrels. These small trees are fast growers, with broad leaves creating a rounded habit.
