Description
Fagus sylvatica is one of our UK native trees. Also known as common beech we often offer as pleached trees. They provide good screening and it retain all the classic beech attributes, with bright green spring leaves that gradually turn golden brown in Autumn.
It is a tough tree, like its parent, and will thrive just about anywhere, but does not do well in exposed or coastal conditions and best suited to reasonably fertile and well drained soils but does not perform well on heavy clay or light sand.
