Description
Mespilus germanica, known as Medlar, forms a small round headed tree that produces a mass of pretty white flowers in the spring and fruits by late summer, which are considered a delicacy by some when very ripe or bletted.
It thrives on most soils but does not like it excessively wet. Green foliage mostly turns yellow but sometimes orange in the autumn.
