Description
Osmanthus armatus otherwise known as holly olive or devilwood. The oval evergreen crown of this small tree gives privacy. The glossy holly like leaves and fragrant tiny white autumn flowers gives year round interest. It thrives on free draining soils but may lose leaves in the severest of winters, so it is best grown in a sunny aspect with protection against biting winter winds. It can be grown close to buildings as it can be also classified as a large shrub and the maximum height will not be a problem for foundations.
Ideal Conditions: Grows well in most soils, but prefers well drained. Full sun.
Maximum Height: 5 metres
We also have Osmanthus aquifolium in stock and Osmanthus burkwoodii as instant hedging.
