Prunus lusitanica can pruned, and makes a great screening tree, it makes a fantastic windbreak and a brilliant dark foil for other plants. We also have Portuguese Laurel as a Practical Instant Hedge™
Portuguese Laurel likes most soils including clay and unlike Common Laurel is also at home on shallow chalk. Prunus lusitanica can be planted in either sun or shade, but it dislikes wet ground.
