A winner of the Award of Garden Merit in 2002, this Weeping Willow is also referred to as Salix x sepucralis ‘Chrysocoma’, Salix babylonica and Salix vitellina ‘Pendula’
This is a wonderfully majestic tree that produces small silvery-green, narrow leaves that arrive early in the spring and fall late in the autumn. Small yellow catkins that in the spring with the foliage.
Salix alba ‘Tristis’ is a large tree at maturity with a broad and weeping shaped crown, it is extremely tolerant of wet conditions and thus often found close to water. It will thrive on most types of soil, providing they are moist.
