Description
Salix x sepulcralis ‘Chrysocoma’ or Golden weeping willow is a very popular willow.
The ‘x’ means it’s a hybrid between to different willows namely Salix alba ‘Vitellina-Tristis’ and Salix babylonica ‘Babylon’.
Salix x sepulcralis ‘Chrysocoma’ is both architecturally stunning with its golden weeping habit as well as very hardy. Beautifully fissured bark as it matures.
This is a thirsty tree which is particularly tolerant of wet conditions; it will thrive on most types of soil, providing they are moist.
It is a large, fast growing tree that needs space to reach its full potential.
